“But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven. He saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. “Look,” he exclaimed, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand!” – Acts 7:55-56 (NLT)
Good morning fellow disciples.
Acts 7:55-56 provides a breathtaking vision amidst intense persecution. While the Sanhedrin seethed with rage, Stephen, “full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven.” In that moment, he received a divine revelation: he saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. This wasn’t just a comforting image; it was a profound confirmation of Jesus’ authority, power, and victory over death. Stephen’s vision served as a source of strength, peace, and unwavering conviction in the face of imminent martyrdom.
As a disciple, you will undoubtedly face trials, hardships, and moments of suffering. In those times, it can be easy to lose sight of the bigger picture and become consumed by the pain and challenges of the present. But like Stephen, you are called to lift your eyes to heaven, to seek a glimpse of God’s glory, and to remember that Jesus is reigning victoriously. You are empowered by the Holy Spirit to see beyond your present circumstances, to find hope in the promises of God, and to experience His peace that surpasses all understanding.
This week, make it a priority to cultivate a deeper awareness of God’s presence in your life. Take time each day to quiet your mind, focus your heart, and lift your eyes to heaven. Pray for a revelation of God’s glory and ask Him to reveal Jesus to you in a new and meaningful way. When you face challenges, remember Stephen’s vision and declare your faith in Jesus’ authority and victory. Redirecting your focus toward heaven will keep you on the path of righteousness.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, open my eyes to see Your glory and reveal Jesus to me in a new and powerful way. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, so that I may have the strength and courage to face whatever challenges come my way. Help me to keep my eyes fixed on You, trusting in Your love, power, and victory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
