A Food Conversation With Jesus

And when the day was already far gone, His disciples came to Him and said, This is a desolate and isolated place, and the hour is now late. Send the crowds away to go into the country and villages round about and buy themselves something to eat. But He replied to them, Give them something to eat yourselves. And they said to Him, Shall we go and buy 200 denarii [about forty dollars] worth of bread and give it to them to eat? [II Kings 4:42-44.] And He said to them, How many loaves do you have? Go and see. And when they [had looked and] knew, they said, Five [loaves] and two fish. And taking the five loaves and two fish, He looked up to heaven and, praising God, gave thanks and broke the loaves and kept on giving them to the disciples to set before the people; and He [also] divided the two fish among [them] all. And they all ate and were satisfied.
Mark 6:35‭-‬38‭, ‬41‭-‬42 AMPC

Good morning fellow disciples.

As you assess the situation that you are in, are you like the disciples who go to God and tell Him what to do?

Do you see the problem, craft a human solution, and then ask God to bless it?

When you do this what does God say to you?

In your conversations with God does it show how faithless you are?

Does your conversations with God reveal that you are not thinking as a kingdom disciple, but as an inhabitant of this worldly system?

I implore you today to learn from the many examples in the Bible of how God provided for those who were in need. From this story we see that God provided miraculous meals for those in need, because Jesus exercised His faith.

Will you exercise your faith today?

Prayer: Father God, I will look to You as the source of everything. I will provide for others from the bounty that You give me, from both the spiritual and the physical realm.

Thank You God for answering prayer. I will pray for others to receive Your blessing. Amen.
