Just at that time there was in their synagogue a man [who was in the power] of an unclean spirit; and now [immediately] he raised a deep and terrible cry from the depths of his throat, saying, What have You to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have You come to destroy us? I know who You are–the Holy One of God! And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hush up (be muzzled, gagged), and come out of him! And the unclean spirit, throwing the man into convulsions and screeching with a loud voice, came out of him.

Good morning fellow disciples.
Have you ever seen someone who was under the power of an unclean spirit? Did this person or the spirit within him speak to you? What was your response?
In this conversation this spirit was asking Jesus several questions. He was afraid of Jesus because he knew who Jesus was. Jesus did not entertain this spirit’s questions.
When Jesus responded, He silenced the unclean spirit and commanded him to leave the man.
Save, heal and, deliver! That was Jesus’ purpose. When confronted by this unclean spirit, Jesus expelled him from the man so that the man was set free!
If you find yourself in a conversation like the one in Mark 1:23-26, what will you do?
Prayer: Father God, thank You for baptizing me with Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for empowering me to bring about healing and deliverance just like Jesus did. Thank You for preparing me with Your gospel so that as I preach and teach, others will be saved.
When confronted by the enemy, I will do just as Jesus did in order to bring about healing, deliverance, and salvation in others. Amen
