A Conversation With Jesus About the Temple Part 3

And as He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple [enclosure], Peter and James and John and Andrew asked Him privately, Tell us when is this to take place and what will be the sign when these things, all [of them], are about to be accomplished?
Mark 13:3‭-‬4 AMPC

Good morning fellow disciples.

Jesus had just told His disciples that the temple would be destroyed. This temple had been built over many decades and was the pride and joy of the Jewish nation. It was the place where they met with and made sacrifices to Jehovah God. To many it seemed unfathomable that this great building would ever be destroyed.

His disciples now wanted to find out when would the temple be destroyed.

Have you ever experienced your church building being destroyed?

Fire, hurricane, or flooding are usually the culprits in our country that causes this destruction. Sometimes the building gets old and is condemned.

How did you feel when you realized that the place where you worshipped was no longer available for you to fellowship with God and your brothers and sisters in Christ?

What did you do in order to remain in fellowship with God and your fellow disciples?

Some of us have never experienced the loss of the church building / Temple. It can be a terrible loss. We sometimes grieve as if we have lost a loved one.

If this does happen to you, I want you to remember that whether you saw it coming or not, the most important thing is to remain in fellowship with God and your fellow disciples.

Prayer: Father God, earthly kingdoms come and earthly kingdoms go, but Your Kingdom remains. Church buildings come and church buildings go, but Your ecclesia remains. Your ecclesia/church/body of believers in Christ live on forever.

Help us as your ecclesia (your church) to be confident in this fact. When prophecies point to destruction of earthly things let us remain confident in the fact that Your church (ecclesia) can never be destroyed. Amen.
