For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines and calamities. This is but the beginning of the intolerable anguish and suffering [only the first of the birth pangs]. Mark 13:8 AMPC
Good morning fellow disciples.
First there are wars and rumors of wars, then there are earthquakes in various places, then there are famines and calamities. But in regard to this Jesus says that it is just the beginning.
It is just like when a woman goes into labor, the pains start but it can take hours or days before the baby finally arrives. Sometimes the woman’s labor is what we call false labor, where she feels the pain but the baby does not come at all.
There are many times in the past where the above scenario that Jesus gives has taken place but still yet, the end has not yet come.
Let us not focus on the end times. Let us focus on the Word of God, the prophecies of God, the commandments of God, and the Good News of God, and live according to them.
It is our role here on earth, as disciples of Christ, to live like Jesus did, to make disciples and to advance the kingdom of God here on earth.
