A Conversation With Jesus About His Prophetic Utterance Part 24

But of that day or that hour not a [single] person knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on your guard [constantly alert], and watch and pray; for you do not know when the time will come.

Good morning fellow disciples.

Jesus was a prophet who proclaimed the words of God.

In His prophetic utterances He described the events of end times in detail, but one thing He could not do was to tell us when these things would occur.

The reason why He could not tell us when that time would be, was because not even, He, as the Son of God knows when that time will be. No one on earth or in the heavens knows, except for Father God.

Even though Jesus was Himself God, He was submitted and surrendered to God Almighty, and as such there are some things that only God the Father who sits on the throne knows. Jesus made it clear to us that He did not know when exactly He would return. Only God the Father knows, and only God the Father will make that decision.

Even though we know what the signs of the times are, we need to be constantly alert and constantly be on guard. We need to be watchful and prayerful because we don’t know when the time of His return will be.

What we’re tasked to do as disciples of Christ, is to advance the Kingdom, that is, preach the gospel and make disciples who will make disciples.

Are you on guard?

Are you watchful?

Are you in constant prayer?

Are you expectantly awaiting Jesus’ return?

Prayer: Father God, thank You for keeping the time of Jesus’ return secret. Thank you, Lord, for revealing the signs that will herald Jesus’ return. We can live our lives knowing that we don’t have to worry, fear, or believe anyone who comes with a revelation that Jesus is coming tomorrow, coming in 2023 or 2044, because we know that that is a lie.

As your children here on earth, we will continue to live our lives pleasing to You. We will continue to be watchful, prayerful, and be on our guard so that no one can fool us or trick us into believe in something that is not true.

Father God, whenever You are ready, send Jesus so that He can be our king forevermore. Amen.
