Surely I say to you, this generation (the whole multitude of people living at that one time) positively will not perish or pass away before all these things take place. Heaven and earth will perish and pass away, but My words will not perish or pass away. Mark 13:30-31 AMPC
Good morning fellow disciples.
The people will not perish or pass away BEFORE all of Jesus’ prophetic utterances come to pass. However, afterwards both heaven and earth will perish and pass away. In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth, and at the end the heavens and the Earth will be destroyed!
Jesus says His words will not perish or pass away. I believe that this is quite fitting! Why?
In the beginning Gods {Father, Son and Holy Spirit}, created the heavens and the earth with their spoken words. Throughout our existence God has continued to speak to us through prophets and His Son, Jesus Christ. So, when the earth and heavens pass away, God’s Word must remain because everything about Him is eternal.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore.
His words existed before creation, during the existence of creation, and will continue after creation passes away!
Prayer: Lord Jesus, forgive us for treating Your Word with such disregard. We spend so much time and energy focused on the things of this world and heavenly beings and lose sight of what is truly important.
Your Words brings us into proper relationship and fellowship with God! Your Words teaches us how to be Kingdom citizens! Your Words give life!
Help us to redirect our focus to Your Word. Amen.
