A Conversation With Jesus About Becoming A Kingdom Citizen Part 6

And the disciples were amazed and bewildered and perplexed at His words. But Jesus said to them again, Children, how hard it is for those who trust (place their confidence, their sense of safety) in riches to enter the kingdom of God!
Mark 10:24 AMPC

Good morning fellow disciples.

What criteria do you think will make you a kingdom disciple? Is it the works that you do, the rules that you follow, the time you spend in church, the number of persons that you preach the gospel to, the day that you attend church on, or the number of likes you get on your social media platform for saying something about God?

Jesus had just told the disciples that it was difficult for those who held on to their possessions to enter the kingdom of God. They were bewildered because of what Jesus said. So Jesus said it in a much clearer way.

Jesus said to them again, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust (place their confidence, their sense of safety) in riches to enter the kingdom of God!”

Did they not remember the first commandment:”Hear oh israel, the Lord your God is one God, you shall have no other gods above me?”

They were perplexed because they lost sight of what God really desired of mankind. In their time and ours, mankind has invented religious systems that show some semblance of worship and dedication to God, but in reality these religious systems do not place God in the position that God deserves to be.

Are you bewildered, amazed, and perplexed like these disciples because you think certain persons will make it into God’s Kingdom because of their social standing or their morality?

Jesus said it clearly:”how hard it is for those who trust (place their confidence, their sense of safety) in riches to enter the kingdom of God!”

Prayer: Father God, my trust, confidence, faith, and my sense of safety is in You. I put aside everything else that is of value to me so that I can follow You and serve You wholeheartedly. I do this in the power of Your Holy Spirit who lives in me. Amen
