A Conversation with Jesus About Authority Part 5

So they replied to Jesus, We do not know. And Jesus said to them, Neither am I going to tell you what [sort of] authority I have for doing these things.
Mark 11:33 AMPC

Good morning fellow disciples.

Authority is defined as “the power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience.”

I have been disappointed by my leaders and fellow disciples so many times when I asked them about things of the Kingdom. Their answers at times were duplicitous, other times unbiblical and, at other times just straightforward hypocritical. I am sure that I have come across to others just like that at times.

Sometimes, just like these Jewish leaders we make the choice not to obey God, or the choice to please the crowd. We say things that does not give any answers to the persons who are seeking them.

“So they replied to Jesus, We do not know!”

How could you not know? Didn’t you seek God for the answer to the question? Is your relationship with God so lacking that He did not reveal it to you?

Prayer: Father God, let me not to lose sight of Who You Are. Let me not lose sight of who I am. Let me not lose sight of the fellowship and relationship that we have.

You are my master, I am Your servant, and I am authorized by You to witness to the whole world. Let me not get caught up in religious systems and lose sight of what it means to be Your disciple.

I pledge today to renew my fellowship with You, so that by abiding with You I can be Your effective witness. Then, I will be able to know and fellowship with Your other authorized witnesses. Amen
