And Jesus said to him, Truly I tell you, this very night, before a cock crows twice, you will utterly deny Me [disclaiming all connection with Me] three times.

Good morning fellow disciples.
Jesus knows us better than we know ourselves. Jesus is a prophet so He knows the future, so when we have conversations with Him we need to keep that in mind.
Jesus: “You will all fall away this night [that is, you will be caused to stumble and will begin to distrust and desert Me].”
Peter: “Even if they all fall away and are caused to stumble and distrust and desert You, yet I will not [do so]!”
Jesus: “Truly I tell you, this very night, before a cock crows twice, you will utterly deny Me [disclaiming all connection with Me] three times.”
Peter: “Even] if it should be necessary for me to die with You, I will not deny or disown You!”
That was the conversation between Peter and Jesus. Whether Peter was full of pride, emotion or, he was just deluding himself we don’t know. What we do know is that Jesus’ words are true and we need to believe Him.
Are you like Peter who is hearing God’s Word clearly but you choose to believe something else?
Are you like Peter who wants to convince God of what you can do when God tells you that you can’t?
Do you believe that you are so strong that when God says that you are weak you still try to push through?
Do you have to have the last word with God in your conversations instead of just accepting what He says to you?
Prayer: Father God, help us to truly listen to You when You speak, instead of us just waiting to say something to show how dedicated or great we think we are. Amen
