Week 29: The Five-Fold Ecosystem
Anchor Scripture: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; make His paths straight.’” — Matthew 3:3 (NKJV)
The Teaching
While the Prophet and the Pastor work together to maintain the Body, the Prophet and the Evangelist work together to expand the Body. On the surface, these two offices might seem similar—both are loud, intense, and often move in the supernatural. But they focus on two different audiences.
The Evangelist is focused on the Harvest (the lost). Their heart beats for the person who doesn’t know Jesus yet. The Prophet is focused on the Host (the Church). Your heart beats for the holiness and the direction of the people who do know Jesus.
When the Prophet and the Evangelist sync up, they become the “Voice in the Wilderness” that prepares the way for the Lord. The Prophet provides the Strategic Intelligence that tells the Evangelist where to fish. You sense when a city is “ripe” or when a specific demographic is being stirred by the Spirit. You provide the “Prophetic Edge” that makes the Evangelist’s message cut through the cultural noise. In return, the Evangelist provides the Prophet with a “Current Purpose”—reminding the Prophet that all our visions and dreams are ultimately for the sake of bringing people into the Kingdom.
Prophetic Insight
A Prophet without an Evangelist can become “inwardly focused” or “elitist”—obsessing over deep mysteries that have no practical use for the lost. An Evangelist without a Prophet can become “shallow” or “method-driven”—relying on marketing rather than the current “Rhema” of God. If you are called to the prophetic office, you should be the Evangelist’s best friend. You are the one who “scouts” the harvest field (Day 200). You see the “man from Macedonia” in a dream and tell the Evangelist, “Go there! The door is open!” Your “Sight” gives the Evangelist “Direction.” Together, you ensure the Church is not just a “Holy Club,” but a “Rescue Station.”
The Activation
Identify an “Evangelist” or someone with a heart for the lost in your circle. Today, offer them a Prophetic Scout Report. Instead of praying for the “Church,” pray for the “Streets.” Ask the Lord: “Where is the Harvest ripe today? What is the ‘Secret Key’ that will open the hearts of the unbelievers in my city?” Share your insight with the Evangelist to encourage their next outreach.
Daily Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank You that You came to seek and to save that which was lost. I ask for the grace to work in synergy with the Evangelists in Your Body. Forgive me for being so focused on ‘deep mysteries’ that I forget the ‘dying world.’ Give me a heart for the harvest. Let my prophetic sight provide the strategy for the salvation of many. Use my voice to prepare the way for Your Grace to enter new territories. Amen.
