Week 23: The Issachar Anointing (Times & Seasons)
Anchor Scripture: “Then God said, ‘Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years.’” — Genesis 1:14 (NKJV)
The Teaching
In the very first chapter of the Bible, God establishes a principle: the physical world is a calendar for spiritual intent. He created the sun, moon, and stars not just for light, but for signs and seasons. In the Hebrew, the word for “seasons” is Moedim, which means “appointed times” or “divine rehearsals.”
The Watchman on the wall doesn’t just look at the ground; they look at the Sky. To “watch the sun and moon” in a prophetic sense means to discern Alignments. Just as an eclipse only happens when the sun, moon, and earth are in a perfect line, God’s greatest moves often happen when multiple factors align: the right people, the right location, and the right “spiritual hour.”
The Issachar anointing allows the prophet to see when these alignments are forming. You notice that a certain scripture is coming up everywhere, a specific person has suddenly re-entered your life, and a recurring theme is appearing in your dreams. The world calls this “coincidence,” but the Watchman calls it “convergence.” You are seeing the “lights” lining up to signal a Moed—an appointed time where God is about to break through.
Prophetic Insight
A prophet is a student of Divine Patterns. God rarely acts in isolation. He coordinates the “stars” of your circumstances to point toward a specific direction. If you find yourself in a season where “everything is lining up”—doors are opening simultaneously, or multiple people are telling you the same thing—do not ignore the sign. God is using the “astronomy of the Spirit” to get your attention. Your job as a watchman is to report the alignment. You tell the people, “The signs are in place. The sun and moon have lined up. The window for this move is now.”
The Activation
Identify three “unrelated” things that have happened in your life over the last week (a conversation, a dream, a news headline, or a scripture). Today, lay them before the Lord and ask: “Lord, is there an alignment here? Are these ‘lights’ pointing to a specific sign or season?” Look for the common thread that connects these disparate events.
Daily Prayer: Lord God, I thank You that You are the Creator of the Heavens. I ask for the grace to discern the spiritual alignments in my life today. Open my eyes to the ‘signs and seasons’ You have set in my path. Forgive me for seeing only random events when You are weaving a perfect pattern. Let me be a watchman who understands the astronomy of Your Spirit. Amen.
