The Living Gospel (Week 2: Connecting Your Chapter to His Book)
Opening Prayer
Holy Spirit, thank you for your ongoing work in our lives. Help us to share not just our conversion story, but the story of your daily, transforming grace.
Today’s Scripture (NLT)
Philippians 1:6
“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
The final act of the biblical narrative is often called Restoration or Glorification—God’s ongoing work of making all things new. In our personal lives, this is the process of sanctification. Sanctification is simply the lifelong journey of becoming more like Jesus. Your testimony doesn’t end on the day you were saved; it continues every day after.
This verse is a beautiful promise. The same God who began the good work in you is faithful to continue that work. You are a masterpiece under construction. This means you don’t have to have it all figured out to have a powerful story. In fact, sharing your ongoing struggles and how you are learning to depend on God’s grace in the present is one of the most authentic parts of your testimony.
Your “Sanctification” story shows people that Christianity isn’t about an instant, perfect transformation, but a daily walk of faith with a God who is patiently and powerfully at work. It gives people hope that God is not finished with them, either.
Disciples’ Life Tip: What is one area where God is currently at work in your life? How are you seeing Him change your character or teach you something new right now? This is your sanctification story. Be ready to share that ongoing process with someone.
Closing Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your patient and persistent work in me. Help me to be honest about my ongoing journey of sanctification, so others can see that You are faithful to complete what You start. Amen.
