The Living Gospel (Week 2: Connecting Your Chapter to His Book)
Opening Prayer
Creator God, thank You for the masterpiece of our lives. Help us to see Your creative and purposeful hand in every detail of our story.
Today’s Scripture (NLT)
Ephesians 2:10
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
The Bible’s grand story begins with Creation. God spoke, and a beautiful, orderly, and purposeful world came into being. Our personal stories are a reflection of this same creative power. This verse tells us we are “God’s masterpiece,” His poiema or work of art.
First, this connects to your original creation. The unique personality, talents, and passions God gave you are part of His design. Your story can point to God as the masterful Creator who designed you on purpose. But even more powerfully, your story is a tale of re-creation. When you came to Christ, God “created you anew.” He took the broken, messy, sinful parts of your life and began a new creative work.
When you tell your story, you are putting on display the creative genius of God. You can show how He is the one who brings order out of chaos, purpose out of aimlessness, and new life out of what was spiritually dead. Your testimony is a living, breathing exhibit of God’s ongoing creative work.
Disciples’ Life Tip: Think about a specific talent or passion God has given you. How is that a reflection of His creativity? Now, think about one area of your life that was chaotic before Christ. How has He brought new life or order to that area? This is your “Creation” story.
Closing Prayer: Lord, thank You for creating me and for creating me anew. May my life be a constant testament to Your power to make all things new. Amen.
