Opening Prayer
Lord, thank you for a story of grace to tell. May you be glorified as we share how you have worked in our lives.
Today’s Scripture (NLT)
Revelation 12:11a
“And they have defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by their testimony.”
Your journey—with all of its ups, downs, and detours—is not just for you. God intends to use your entire story as a powerful tool for His kingdom. This verse reveals two things that defeat the enemy: the blood of the Lamb (the finished work of Jesus) and the word of our testimony.
What is a testimony? It’s simply telling the story of what God has done in your life. It’s not a story of your own perfection; it’s a story of His perfect grace. The most powerful testimonies are often not about how someone never struggled, but about how God was faithful in the midst of their struggle. The story of your detour and your return is not a story of your failure; it’s a story of God’s relentless, redeeming love.
Your past pain, your struggles, and even the scars you carry from your wilderness season can become powerful points of connection that offer hope to others. When you share how God met you in your mess, it gives others the courage to believe He can meet them in theirs. God transforms your personal mess into His powerful message.
Disciples’ Life Tip: Take a few minutes to outline your story in three parts:
1) What my life was like before I truly knew God’s grace (or during my detour).
2) How God rescued me and brought me home.
3) What my life is like now, walking with Him. Be ready to share it when God provides the opportunity.
Closing Prayer: Father, thank You for giving each of us a testimony. Give us the courage to share our story, not to bring glory to ourselves, but to point a watching world to the power of the blood of the Lamb. Amen.
