Opening Prayer
Lord, thank you for grafting us into your family. Lead us to a community of believers where we can put down roots and grow together.
Today’s Scripture (NLT)
Hebrews 10:24-25
“Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.”
The Christian journey was never meant to be a solo expedition. When you said “yes” to Jesus, you were not only brought into a relationship with God, but you were also adopted into a global, spiritual family: the Church. This scripture highlights the vital importance of connecting with that family on a local level.
We are called to “not neglect our meeting together.” Why? Because we need each other. In community, we find the encouragement to keep going when we feel weak. We find motivation and inspiration to live out our faith through “acts of love and good works.” We find accountability, wisdom, and the simple joy of belonging.
Your local church is not a building or an event; it is your family. It’s the place where you put down relational roots that help you stand firm when the storms of life hit. Trying to grow as a Christian without the Church is like trying to raise a child without a family. It’s possible, but it’s not God’s beautiful and life-giving design.
Disciples’ Life Tip: If you are not currently connected to a local church, make it a priority this week. Do a search online, ask a Christian friend for a recommendation, and plan to visit a service this Sunday. Go with a heart ready to find your family.
Closing Prayer: Father God, thank You for the Church. Help us to see it not as an obligation, but as a gift. Guide us to the community where You want us to be planted. Amen.
