Opening Prayer
Lord, help us to see ourselves as You see us: fearfully and wonderfully made, with purpose and intention.
Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 2:10(NLT)
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
In a world that often measures our worth by our performance, our appearance, or our follower count, it’s easy to feel like we’re just another face in the crowd. But the Bible presents a radically different reality. This verse doesn’t say you are a rough draft or an accident; it says you are “God’s masterpiece.” The same God who painted every sunset and engineered every star intentionally crafted you.
The original Greek word for “masterpiece” is poiema, from which we get our word “poem.” You are God’s poem, His work of art. But it doesn’t stop there. You were crafted with a purpose in mind—“to do the good things he planned for us long ago.” This means your life is not a random series of events. There is a divine design, a unique course charted for you before you ever took your first breath.
That feeling of being “made for more” is true because you were made by the God of “more.” You were designed for a relationship with Him and to play a unique role in His grand story. Your journey home is a journey into discovering the masterpiece you are and the purpose for which you were made.
Disciples’ Life Tip: Take a moment to list three things you are uniquely good at or passionate about. Thank God for designing you with those specific gifts, and ask Him to show you how they might be a clue to the “good things” He has planned for you.
Closing Prayer: Father God, thank You for making us Your masterpiece. Help us to walk in the confidence that we were created on purpose, for a purpose. Amen.
