“The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ).” – John 1:41 (NIV)
Good morning fellow disciples.
John 1:41 beautifully captures Andrew’s immediate response after encountering Jesus. It says, “The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ (that is, the Christ).” This shows Andrew’s excitement and eagerness to share the Good News with someone he loved. It wasn’t a calculated plan but a spontaneous outflow of joy and conviction. Andrew understood the profound significance of meeting the Messiah and couldn’t keep it to himself.
As a disciple, you, too, are called to share the Good News with others. Andrew’s example reminds you that evangelism doesn’t have to be complicated or intimidating. It can start with simply sharing your personal experience with Jesus. You are empowered to be a witness to Christ’s love, grace, and truth in your everyday interactions. Don’t underestimate the impact of your testimony or the power of a simple invitation to encounter Jesus. Your enthusiasm and genuine love for Christ can be contagious.
This week, identify someone in your life with whom you can share the Good News. Pray for an opportunity to speak into their life and ask God to give you the right words to say. Consider how you can share your personal experience with Jesus in a natural and authentic way. Remember, it’s not about convincing them, but about sharing your joy and inviting them to discover the truth for themselves. Start redirecting your focus to a person that may need to hear about Jesus.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, fill me with Your Holy Spirit and give me the courage to share my faith with others. Help me to be a witness to Your love, grace, and truth in my everyday interactions. Guide me to those who are seeking You and give me the right words to say. May my life be a reflection of Your love and may I lead others to discover the joy of knowing Jesus. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
