“As they stoned him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” – Acts 7:59 (NLT)
Good morning fellow disciples.
Acts 7:59 captures the poignant final moments of Stephen’s life. As stones rained down upon him, he offered a simple yet profound prayer: “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” This prayer encapsulates the essence of faith, trust, and surrender. In the face of death, Stephen turned to Jesus, acknowledging His Lordship and entrusting his eternal destiny into His loving hands. This verse emphasizes the personal relationship that believers have with Jesus and highlights the hope of eternal life through Him.
As a disciple, you may face moments of fear, uncertainty, or overwhelming challenges. In those times, remember Stephen’s example: turn to Jesus in prayer and entrust your life, your fears, and your future into His hands. You are empowered to call upon Jesus at any time, in any place, and in any circumstance. He is always present, always listening, and always ready to receive you with His love and grace. Let your prayer be a constant reminder of your dependence on Him and your confidence in His saving power.
This week, cultivate a habit of turning to Jesus in prayer throughout the day. When you face challenges, temptations, or moments of uncertainty, pause, and offer a simple prayer of trust: “Lord Jesus, help me.” As you entrust your life into His hands, you will experience His peace, His strength, and His guidance. You can start redirecting your focus by acknowledging God in prayer.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I turn to You in prayer, acknowledging You as my Lord and Savior. I entrust my life, my fears, and my future into Your loving hands. Help me to remember Your presence in every moment and to call upon You in every circumstance. Thank You for Your love, Your grace, and Y our promise of eternal life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
